What does a Pete Rose autograph cost?
From thirty-five dollars to nearly fifty thousand, the widest spread on this page. That is a market with an enormous cheap base and a few genuinely scarce items at the top, which is precisely what a prolific signer with a long career leaves behind.
What of his gets signed most often?
Cards, then photographs, then first-day covers, across eleven item types. The cover count is notably high for a baseball signer, which reflects decades of signing whatever was put in front of him at shows and through the mail.
What does his death in 2024 mean for this market?
Less than the usual rule suggests, and it is worth being straight about why. Death normally creates scarcity, but Rose signed so much for so long that his death barely dented the supply.
