What does a Tom Watson autograph cost?
From fifty-four dollars to under five hundred, a spread of about nine times and among the narrowest on this index. A deep, cheap market with no expensive tier at all.
What of his gets signed most often?
Cards, at around three quarters of everything tracked, across only six item types. Golf markets on this index are consistently narrow in both price and object type, and his is the clearest example.
Why is not one item of his graded?
Every certified Tom Watson item here carries an authentication without a numeric autograph grade. Golf signatures are gathered at tournaments and through the post, not at manufacturer sessions.
Signatures are reproduced more often than most buyers realise, by outright forgery and also by machines and assistants signing on somebody’s behalf. Every item on this page has been examined by PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett, SGC or CGC, and this index carries nothing else. That is a deliberate restriction, and the investigation that created the modern authentication industry is worth reading, along with what a certificate actually claims.
